6 key points from ProPublica about the latest Clarence Thomas scandal

It really easy to lose track of all the scandals that are hanging over Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas. (They should be leading to an impeachment inquiry.)

The latest scandle coalesces around Charles and David Koch (the Koch brothers), who have run one of the largest privately-held companies in the world. Its annual revenues were $125 billion in March 2023.

ProPublica added to its long-running investigation of the Thomas ethics “lapses” on Friday 22 September 2023. Thomas, they wrote, “attended at least two Koch donor summits, putting him in the extraordinary position of having helped a political network that has brought multiple cases before the Supreme Court.”

In 2018, the Koch brothers had a combined net worth of almost $100 billion. We are only now learning how they courted Thomas that year. (David died in August 2019.)

Keep these five points in mind when you read or hear anyone criticizing the ProPublica
